Interview with Dr. Henry Grayson on Mindful Loving
We will have the pleasure of meeting Henry Grayson and viewing his Seminar on May 15. Use Your Body to Heal Your Mind at the Holiday Inn at Fisherman’s Wharf, in San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Grayson’s Clinical Practice
Dr. Grayson is a certified psychoanalyst, but has also studied and practiced most of the major psychotherapies, such as cognitive therapy, Gestalt therapy, hypnosis, transactional analysis, group therapy, couples therapy, EMDR, the other new “power therapies”(Emotional Freedom Techniques, Tapas Acupressure Technique and evolving Thought Field Therapy and other energy psychology methods some of which are his new innovations.) These are used for quickly and effectively clearing effects of traumas and other painful experiences, disturbing emotions, as well as negative core beliefs–that “software” we so often live by.) He as been strongly influenced by diverse spiritual systems and practices, new brain research, Neuropsychology, and insights from Quantum Physics and other new sciences, and has developed a powerful synergy, combining these into a unified system for spiritually and scientifically oriented psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, called Synergetic Therapy.
He practices in New York City as a Psychologist and in Connecticut as a psychoanalyst, energy healer, and pastoral counselor.
Q&A with Henry Grayson:
-
You have done a lot of self healing with various symptoms. What are they and what did you do?
I first learned how to stop perpetual debilitating sore throats and colds, then healed my degenerated disc in my back when doctors though I would not walk again without surgery—and was skiing in Colorado three months later. I have twice healed a torn maniscus in my knee from ski injuries —without surgery, and healed a bone spur without surgery. A few years ago, in a routine physical exam, my internist told me that my degenerated disc was fully restored. I will explain in detail in the seminars how sthis can be done.
-
You say all healing should start with the mind. What do you mean by that?
There is no separation between the mind and the body, as is commonly though in medicine and much of psychology. We only have a mindbody. When I healed myself, I had to attend to the emotional issues which were not conscious to me, but which were expressed through the body. That is why we need to first read the language of the body rather than rushing to a doctor to get rid of the symptom–unless it is an emergency. The body is speaking its language which we most often ignore and then try to get it to shut up. Just as a child will act out more if we do not hear his or her emotional pain, so will our bodies act out with illness and pain.
-
How is it that you use subtle energies for healing?
We all have painful experiences, sometimes traumatic, other times insidious and ongoing. These cause encodings of information in our limbic system, binding up energy and depleting our immune system. We can use meridian based methods, such as EFT, TFT or an adaptation of the EFT, which I call the EFTA , or the EMDR to clear out the effects of traumas and the negative beliefs which grow out of them. In doing so, we free up enormous energy which can be used for healing, ongoing health and happiness.
-
Why do people not so what they know would help their healing and health?
Virtually every human being, I have discovered through several polls, has barriers to health, healing, happiness and success. They are mostly unconscious, but are played out in our lives. Most common are:
“I don’t deserve total health and happiness,” “It’s not safe to be totally healthy and happy,” or “I am not worthy of being totally healthy and happy,” These can be cleared by using one of the meridian based energy methods, then we can more easily allow ourselves to do what we need to do to heal, be happy, and successful. -
You draw a lot from Quantum physics as well as world wide spiritual thought. Aren’t science and spirituality supposed to be the opposite?
Quantum physics tells us that everything is interconnected, that there is no separate objective reality, that there is just one Unified Field of consciousness. These conclusions are similar to much spiritual thought, that we are all One or interconnected. In terms of healing, this means that every thought, feeling, and action is effecting my body every moment—and also those other bodies around me. The body is 99.999% empty space, and it is consciousness which determines how the cells will replace themselves in the body. This is easy, since there is not much there—and certainly nothing etched in stone.

But what about genes? Aren’t they fixed?
We were all taught that in school, but now the world’s top geneticists are saying that genes are changeable. We can activate some and deactivate others. IN my workshops we teach people how to do this.
